Breaking Chains: Art for the Rebel Souls
Hi rebels!
I could not wait to finally share this with you!
Rick and I are VERY excited to finally present BREAKING CHAINS!
What the hell is it you may be thinking…
Origin Story
The origin story of Breaking Chains is tricky to tell.
Because there wasn’t one certain identifiable timestamp or event that started it.
It’s one of those famous Steve Job’s “connecting the dots backwards” moments.
I can’t even tell from when onwards I’ve been walking towards it - not even knowing I did…
To get the full essence of its origins I should probably go back many years… and recall everything I had done over those years…
Everything I’d experienced, worked at, gone though and created.
All the conversations (and rants) I had with so many people.
The non-stop process of soul searching … without even knowing what I was searching for… and who I became (or recalled that I was) as a result…
I kept telling everyone that I suck at visual art.
I had convinced them all, myself included
Yet, no matter how stupid I thought it would be… I tried nevertheless…
Maybe it’s because I thought I would never be able to do it…
So I had to prove myself wrong…
Or maybe it’s because I enjoyed the process and thought that no one was going to see those.
Eventually they stopped being “stupid images” and deeper meaning starting emerging from behind…
And there came stories that I felt compelled to tell so I spent time after dark drinking beer and writing those stories.
Stories of all those who felt trapped, those whose rebel spirit was caged but still alive… and who longed for freedom…
I guess the whole thing eventually became about all of us.
Cause we’ve all been there… haven’t we?
Then I reached the point of “so now what?”
And being all or nothing person I went back and forth from wanting to mint a collection to doing nothing at all.
What I always liked most about the web3 space was its original ethos and culture… and the people in it.
It attracted the creatives, misfits and rebels.
I love the fact that when people here resonate with the idea, they team up and built it together even if they have never met each other IRL.
When Rick offered to help out I was both grateful and wanted to say no
…because I totally suck at accepting help… but I somehow said yes…
I thought we were just going to work on bringing an NFT collection to life… but many discussions and brainstormings led us to turning it into something so MUCH MORE than that!
And the journey has just begun
In the spirit of transparency and shared learning, I’ll continue to take you behind the scenes and show you the raw and real journey of "Breaking Chains."
