Let me tell you a story.
Once upon a time, many years ago it was prohibited to manufacture, sell, and transport alcohol in the United States. So people not only had to live a hard life, but were also forced to do it sober.
There was an escape from the miserable, sobering reality though. Underground bars, hidden from the public eye with passwords or secret knocking patterns to gain access.
These places were called speakeasies. With rebelliousness filling the smoky air, those weren’t just about the drinks; they were about the people, the conversations, and the unfiltered truth.
Tucked away in secret basements and behind hidden doors, people gathered to escape the noise and the reality of the world. They talked, laughed, drank, danced and shared stories —the kind of stories they couldn’t tell just anywhere.
Let’s fast forward many years…
Today, the world looks different, but maybe not as much as we’d like to think. Because let’s be honest… true rebels, still don’t fit in… we still are trying to find our sweet spot in this world and just like back then, we crave a space to escape to.
To some of us that space has been web3…
But it’s no longer underground… with each year “masses” join, which is fine… but with them also come the ones we were trying to initially escape…
People screaming for attention, giving empty promises, sharing “next big things”, executing their rug pulls and blaming us for those…
With each year their crowd becomes bigger, drowning out the voices that really matter.
As a result we keep scrolling looking for the real stuff, get in and out of X spaces searching for meaningful conversations that are so hard to find, seeking the real genuine humans who care about what’s beyond the cashtags, FOMO and hype.
We’ve been looking for an escape, a secret hideaway inside the web3 space.
Escape…
Not from prohibition, but from the chaos. Not from sobriety, but from shallow takes, zombified cults and endless echo chambers.
And since we could not find anything (maybe because the real ones are busy building…) we decided to create that space.
Today the Rebel Speakeasy was born: our version of a speakeasy, but for the web3 world.
It’s where we strip away the polished facades and have the kind of conversations that aren’t for everyone.
We’re going to bring ideas that challenge you, stories that inspire you, and voices that speak the truth.
So, welcome to the Rebel Speakeasy.
The password? If you read this: you’re already in.
What about those who have not discovered us yet?... We’ll think about it together in our upcoming X spaces.
Grab your drink, get comfy, and let’s talk web3 like no one’s listening.
See you inside,
Ani & Rick
P.S. Hit reply and let us know what you’d love to see here. We’re building this space together.
